Ways to Learn
I’m thinking there are two ways a couple can learn:
- Learn a new hobby or activity together
- Learn about each other
Ways to Grow – Working Together
Growing as a couple can blossom while working on a hobby or project together, as this will inevitably bring about how you communicate, collaborate and cooperate with each other.
My husband and I are embarking on an entirely new, unfamiliar project of developing land and building a home together. The learning curve is steep, with many choices along the way. Communication, organization, prioritization, and the excitement of putting our thoughts, ideas, desires and dreams on the table as we begin this exciting journey – are all pieces of learning and growing together.
While my husband and I learn the ins-and-outs of how to develop land and build a house, there will be differences of opinions and compromises along the way. As we learn, we grow by meeting these challenges together, head-on.

Learn About Each Other
Communicating, collaborating and cooperating while moving through life are steps to learning about each other. Learning about our individual styles of communication. What is important to each other. Subjective biases. How we view the world, and what is possible.
There are those times when deeper, emotional triggers come to the surface. Those conversations need to be nurtured and supported as vulnerable parts feel safe enough to speak.
As well, there are many opportunities to learn about each other in life’s day-to-day rituals. This can be accomplished by observing how our beloved goes about their day; noticing what is important to them and when they struggle. This observing allows an opportunity to grow as we learn how to honor and support our partner in their own unique way.
Lifelong Process

We grow and change.
We learn and grow.
Hopefully so, because remaining stagnant and complacent is certain death to one’s spirit and soul, and the heart of the relationship.
By learning and growing, being engaged with each other while moving through and forward in life, will result in a deeper sense of peace and heartfelt connection that is a part of the very essence of love…
S, 💚
