5 Principles of Reiki
Just for today, I will not worry
Just for today, I will not be angry
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will be kind to all living things
Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings
Caught Up in a Loop
Sometimes I find myself caught up in a loop in my mind about people, places and things in my life I have no control over. This mental obsession of digging for reasons, purpose, or trying to solve imagined problems is exhausting.
I try to think about possibilities that make me happy – but the need to perseverate on a fixated stressor can be overwhelming. It feels like I’m constantly trying to solve a potential threat to my well-being.
Sometimes, I feel like I don’t even know how to operate in the world out there. Too sensitive for my own good. Too fearful for my own good.
Eventually, I find my way back to feeling myself again.
At 52 years of age, and post-menopausal – I acknowledge that hormones increase my sensitivities as I seem to cycle through times when I feel more emotionally raw.
Let It Go….
When I’m perseverating, I feel like this is my life now – can’t see past it. When I start to come through the other side, and let go of it – I realize how pointless it is – because I can’t control anything beyond myself.
I start to feel free.
I relate to these lyrics in the well-known song Let It Go, from Disney’s movie Frozen:
The fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free! Let it go... Let it go... I am one with the wind and sky Let it go... Let it go...
I like this sing-a-long version of “Let It Go”, as the words to this song are empowering on many different life lessons!
One With the Wind and Sky
Just for today, let it go! Be free! Be one with the wind and sky!
