55 Rules For Love – Rule #42 – Take Picnics And Sleep Under The Stars

Creating Nice Moments

Packing for a picnic and sleeping under the stars is not a usual way people spend their time as it requires a bit of work and planning. As well, a hundred things can go wrong such as: bugs crawling over or landing on the food, bugs that bite like mosquitos, forgetting something important and having to improvise, the weather not cooperating and suddenly it rains or gets cold, while sand or dirt gets into everything.

Stuff like that.

However, while crunching down on sand as I eat the offerings of the picnic, a lot can go right, too…

Creates A Lasting, Nice Memory

Like sunsets, sunrises, mesmerizing campfires, and the sound of the ocean’s gentle waves lulling us to sleep… all while hoping someone out dune bashing in the wee hours of the early morning doesn’t run over our tent!

Camping – Qatar

Sleeping on the Roof of our Villa – Qatar

We inflated the camping mattress, made a cozy bed, brought up the dogs and settled in to sleep on the roof. It was all good – until the dampness sunk in and I became too cold… so we picked up and returned to the warmth of our inside bed!

Take Time

These adventures add to the quality of our time together in this busy thing called life. Adventures don’t have to be grand and sweeping – they can be as accessible as sleeping on your roof (if possible!) or even on your back deck after a nice bbq!

As I settle into this second season of my life, I am realizing the importance of the present moment and connecting with my husband, Michael. Taking the time to sleep under the stars and picnic together is readily available because the stars are always up there and having a picnic is as easy as eating supper on the front deck of the cabin we’re staying in. Maybe we can sleep out there, one night too!
