Fishing Trip Part VIII – Vancouver Island, British Columbia – The Wild West Coast of Canada – Smoke From United States Wildfires

Last Day – Hecate Cove

We enjoyed breakfast, then packed up to head back to the marina at Port Alice. Smoke from the U.S. wildfires had given the appearance of fog over the cove.

The boat ride back felt like we were traveling through an eerie, mystical land…

Smoke appeared heavier over the mountains in Port Alice.

For All The Loggers…

This signage is posted on the dock at the marina. I didn’t know what caulk boots were, and learned they are used by loggers to walk on logs.

Back In Campbell River

The sun was trying to break through the smoke, but the skies were thick with it.

Speaking of thick – our freezer was thick with halibut steaks!!!

Michael and I truly enjoyed our fishing trip…and it sure was great to be home and soak in a deep, hot bubble bath after three nights in a rustic cabin!!!
