Fishing Trip Part V – Quatsino Sound, Vancouver Island, British Columbia – The Wild West Coast of Canada – A Sea Cucumber Kinda Day!

Another Perfect Day

Our fishing enthusiast friends and hosts for our fishing adventure, Don and Denise were shocked at another day of perfect weather! Typically, the weather on the west coast of Vancouver Island is moody – often changing its mind to include lots of rain and high winds!

Pacific Red Rock Crab & Sea Cucumbers!

This day, our final full day of fishing, brought a few more rock crabs, a couple of small halibut and a handful of sea cucumbers! Our only take-home bounty were rock crabs!

Beautiful Quatsino Sound

Relaxing Afternoon

We headed back to the cabin, to relax for the afternoon. On our return to the cabin, we noticed a slight haze in the air. This was the start of smoke from the fires along the US West Coast, making its way to Vancouver Island. The neighborhood black bear returned for more apples from the apple trees behind the cabin. I have more pictures and will post a blog just for the bear!
