McIvor Lake – Campbell River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Hot Summer Days

A great way to spend a hot summer day is at the lake! McIvor Lake is a short drive from downtown Campbell River, and a real hangout for locals with lots of activity both on and along the shores of the beautiful lake.

There is the main beach and lots of little hidden beaches along its perimeter. I preferred a small, hidden beach I found because of cars parked randomly along the road to the main beach. I stopped to investigate and discovered the little beach!

The water of McIvor Lake was quite cool – yet refreshing once in and swimming. I was a bit shocked at how cool the water was, as August had been a very hot month. What I truly enjoyed about the lake is the clarity of the water – not the dark waters typical to most lakes – where you can’t see bottom.

Flyboarding

Fly High Adventures brought flyboarding to the lake! This was exciting to watch as the pros did flips and circles in the air!

A Terrier Mix Becomes a Retriever!

Our dog Pooh Bear, a land-loving terrier mix, learned how to retrieve toys thrown out on the water from a Labrador she befriended at the lake!

I love the way you fit so much in a “Stephanie Day”. Just don’t let Michael see the flyboarding.🙏😳… Even Pooh Bear enjoys tagging along on your interesting day adventures. Nice seeing you relax.
