Cherry Picking in the Backyard
The cherry tree in our backyard is a popular hangout for birds and bugs who enjoy the tasty berries as much as we do! I wore gloves while picking the berries, as one too many hornets crawled on the berries!
Duck Pond
Visiting the duck pond behind our house, to feed the ducks has become a regular part of the daily routine. I’ve watched five of seven ducklings grow. Sadly, nature took two of the babies. These ducklings are now teenagers, blossoming into young adults as their wings grow.
Two of the adult ducks will eat from my hand. One of these two ducks is a bit of a bully. He gets a reprimand from me when he nips at other ducks, his response to this is a stare back at me as if saying, “And you are???”
Too funny!!!
Running with a Deer
I’m an avid runner. One evening, I came upon a deer. Not my first time while running, as deer are as much a part of the population of this small, coastal town as people. She noticed me as I noticed her. She watched me as I watched her – while taking these pictures as I ran towards her, not slowing my pace. She turned and ran ahead of me, as I followed along! It was a magical moment as it happened! She then turned into the woods, stopped and watched me as I passed…

Bald Eagles
There are many bald eagles here in Campbell River. They truly are magnificent birds, who just resonate with my very spirit and soul.
Every picture is a bit blurry, as I’m using my iPhone on zoom or my Canon camera with a very quick grab and shoot when an eagle suddenly appears.

Random Moments
With the end of July and the start of August, there are many more summer moments ahead!

A time to stop and smell the roses. Moments like these remind me of the beauty around us that we mostly take for granted. We shouldn’t. Thank you, for a way to pause in time, to see and reflect. The cherries make my mouth water. DVK ❤️
I certainly have the time to notice the small moments! My life here, while Michael is away working, is nothing but moment to moment! ❤️🙏🏻🌻
Thank you for reminding me of the beauty and peace that surrounds us.
Even in our new world of chaos and disorder, there is beauty and perfection everywhere.

If your cheery tree were closer, there’d be no cherries. DV ❤️❤️❤️
