Elk Falls Provincial Park – Campbell River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Campbell River Way of Life

Elk Falls Provincial Park is part of a way of life in Campbell River – for hiking, camping and salmon fishing.

My walk this day brought me along the city’s namesake – the Campbell River to the Canyon View Trail and the Canyon View Trail Bridge.

A Thousand Shades of Green

The Campbell River

Bald Eagles

I didn’t have my camera on the correct setting, therefore my photos of the eagles are not the clearest. However, I have such a love for these majestic birds, that I have to include them!

BC Hydro Station

BC Hydro has a station at Elk Falls. The big water falls are further inland. I stayed along a different path this day – taking me to the Canyon View Trail and the Canyon View Trail Bridge.

Salmon Fishermen!

The Campbell River was lined with people fishing for salmon! The second picture is a view of the river from the Canyon View Trail Bridge.
