Half Marathon Training – Week 13 – No Running. Week 14 – RUNNING!!

I’M BACK!!!!

The Shining - I'm Back

Yup, it is true!! After 2 months of waiting for plantar fasciitis to be healed enough, the day finally came when I could start pounding the pavement to that glorious rhythm of running!

24 Weeks to Half Marathon

My goal is to run the Valley Harvest Half Marathon, on Sunday, October 11th, 2020 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. 21.1km.

2 Weeks of Exercise

This was a hodgepodge of walking, indoor cardio exercise, landscaping and on the very last day….A RUN!!!! It was a test run – to see how my foot would handle it. I was like a rearing, wild thoroughbred at the gate – ready for take-off… It was raining, but that added to the adrenaline of being back out, running again!! It was difficult to stop, but I had to honor my foot.

Body Project

Michael and I truly enjoy exercising together to Body Project’s low-impact, high cardio videos! Click here to try one!! The videos are free – on YouTube, and are intense workouts!! Especially the standing abdominal and squat sets!!!

Final Thoughts

It has been a LONG two months of not running. Running is the one activity where I truly face myself – push myself – and overcome my mind that wants to stop running, or my body that wants to stop (when my physical health isn’t an issue) from fatigue. I push through the thoughts and fatigue, to strive towards my goal!

Starting back, I’m going to pace myself. I’ll start with a minimum 1km morning run, every second day, adding a bit more distance each time. I’m so excited!!!

Never stop working towards a dream!!!

S, 🏃🏼‍♀️
