The Power of Meditation

I’ve recently downloaded the app Calm, and have been listening to How to Meditate with Jeff Warren.

Meditation to Improve Concentration

Meditation isn’t new for me. I have attempted to practice it many times over the years. Today, I have decided to start again! This morning I listened to Jeff Warren speak about Home Base. Coming back to a Home Base to anchor me in the now, and become better at concentrating on whatever it is I am doing. People usually choose breathing – to focus on their breathing – to help bring them out of their mind, back to the now and help them concentrate on what they are doing.

I wasn’t sitting down while listening to the second session in his series of How to Meditate, I was emptying the dishwasher. I decided that was okay, because while I am doing stuff, is when my mind and negative thoughts can get a grip on me. While I emptied the dishwasher, I practiced bringing my attention back to my breath. Back to my Home Base… to concentrate on emptying the dishwasher… not focusing on my thoughts.

Just for today, I will do my work honestly as I concentrate, as best as I can, on the task at hand. I will bring myself back to Home Base, and as far away from my thoughts as possible.

That means the world to me.
I also have some other bad news that so grieves my heart.
I have a sister that lives in Antigonish and she found out this week that she has spots on both of her lungs and she has to wait to see a specialist.
She tells me not to worry but I am so worried.
Can you please send healing thoughts to her, please?
        Her name is Loretta.
        Thank you,
