Within downtown La Crucecita is the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Catholic church overlooking the main centre square.

 20 Meter Tall Image of the Virgin of Guadalupe – The Largest in the World

 According to Wikipedia, the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s 20 meter tall image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, painted on the ceiling, is the largest in the world. The story goes that the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego back around 1531, within the borders of Mexico City.

  1. I love these old Spanish colonial churches. This one has so much artwork inside, wonderful!

    1. My mother just called me, a very Catholic woman, who was moved to tears by this church. Apparently this church is in honor of the Virgin Mary who appeared to Juan Diego, within the borders of Mexico City, around 1531. The main church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is in Mexico City. This is, I presume a smaller dedication church.
