Mexico, here we come!!
I’m SUPER excited to travel to this location in the south of Mexico! This location was first recommended by Nancy and Glenn, a couple Michael and I know who travel extensively. They fell in love with Huatulco for so many reasons, with the added bonus that most of the tourists are locals! I immediately decided this was the location in Mexico I would pick, because I did not want touristy! I wanted an authentic experience! After I booked, my friend Laura, whom I worked with in Qatar, is from Caracas, Venezuela, lived in Mexico for four years (and her parents still do) visited Huatulco with them and absolutely loved it! Laura was thrilled with my vacation choice because Huatulco was going to be her recommendation to me!
According to Wikipedia, 80% of all tourism is domestic in nature, only 20% of tourism is foreign! PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huatulco is a resort area in the state of Oaxaca comprised of La Crucecita, Tangolunda and Santa Cruz. The main centre is La Crucecita. Our AirBnb is in La Crucecita. I can’t wait to wander downtown, shop a bit, visit the main square & La Crucecita Church, then just hang out while eating Mexican food, drinking Mexican beer and people watch!
Let us not forget the BEACHES!!!!!!!!!! There are nine bays – Santa Cruz, Chahue, Tangolunda, Conejos, Chacahual, Cacaluta, San Agustín, El Órgano and Maguey – and 36 beaches!
The most recommenced bay is Cacaluta – but is difficult to access by land.
Well, that is all I’m going to write and research about the area, because we’d rather find out on our own!!! We will try a bit of this and a bit of that….something new each day!!!!
And, honestly…… I’m just SO excited, I can’t sit still!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Eso es todo por ahora!!!!
(I’m hoping that says “That is all for now” in Spanish, google translate helped me! 😉
