Just for today, I will not worry.
When a stressful situation happens: I have two options:
- Think of the worst case scenario – the worst possible outcome and freak myself out so much I’m an emotional, hysterical mess.
- Think of a variety of positive, pleasing outcomes with the hopes that all will be okay. If the outcome is terrible – I know I can handle it in a calm, rational way.
Last night, I chose option #2!
And it worked! Yes, I was up all night, worried and concerned. What I wasn’t was frantic or crying – an emotional mess. I was calm. A calm concern, worried for my cat’s safety.
Here is what happened:
Our indoor cats who are rescues from Qatar, managed to get outside! We’re living in a remote area, in the middle of a forest, that is home to a variety of predators! Not the terrain or wildlife our cats are accustomed to!
One cat – Georgie – the street smart cat – came back to us no problem.
The other cat, Bob, who lost all sense of living on the street when we adopted him, was gone all night!
Thankfully, he returned early the next morning, unharmed! My husband watched him as he walked out from the forest to our backyard – with a “Phew, found it!” look on his face!
Just for today, I will not worry. When something stressful happens, I will remain hopeful and calm…
S, ❤️
Bob, home safe and sound, exhausted after his all-nighter in the forest!

It must have been hard choosing option #2.🤗 You both must have been so worried. Glad Bob & Georgie and both of you are feeling better.
Now for the “Grounding “part 🐈😿 … ( smile ) 😘
