Canadian Repatriation Adventure – Sainte-Madeleine, Quebec – Camping Ste-Madeleine

Michael and I stayed at this RV campsite in Quebec for a week. Our main reason for checking into this campsite was because our truck was having clutch issues.  Click here to read about “The Truck Issue!”

While we were eager to reach our final destination province of Nova Scotia, and with our truck in the shop for repair, we decided to stay a week to give ourselves a bit of breathing space, some time to start understanding RV life and how to operate our 5th wheel.

The staff and long-term residents of the campground were delightful! With 90% of Sainte-Madeleine residents speaking French, and 98% of the campground residents speaking French, Michael and I were still able to get helpful RVing tips, become more familiar with our behemoth 5th wheel…and had the added bonus of trying to speak French! This was a lot of fun for me as I grew up in a French speaking family but never learned the language as English was spoken to me while French and English spoken between adults.

Camping Ste-Madeleine – Walk Through

The campground seemed to be a fairly large one, with a substantial long-term campers area.

Campfire at Camping Ste-Madelaine – Roasting Marshmallows!

I found sticks perfect for roasting marshmallows!

Our First Rain Storm….

….this was before we learned how to angle the awning so rain doesn’t pool, sag the awning, then drain off…..2019 - Sainte-Madeleine, Quebec - Camping Ste-Madeleine RV Park - First Rain Storm

Final Meal – Fish & Poutine, of Course!

Before we set off towards Nova Scotia we enjoyed a hearty (not so heart healthy! hee hee!) serving of fish and Quebec poutine!  The cheese curds squeaked as you chewed! 2019 - Sainte-Madeleine, Quebec - Camping Ste-Madeleine RV Park - Fish and Poutine

Saying Goodbye!

Cyril, whose children now own the camp ground, was so nice and helpful!  This RV campsite was an amazing stay who welcomed us in like family!2019 - Sainte-Madeleine, Quebec - Camping Ste-Madeleine RV Park - Saying Goodbye

Thank you Camping Ste-Madeleine!

Great decision to stay at Sainte-Madeleine camp ground. It appears to be very well maintained and the long-term campers gave the grounds the appearance of a small village. Michael’s roasted marshmallows look so good mmm! Sounds like you both lucked into some friendly folks and left with a bit more RV knowledge. Getting closer to NS..YES!!!😍
