Wadi Rum, Jordan – Part V – Desert Tour – Barrah Siq – Valley of the Moon or Lawrence of Arabia Pass

Our guide dropped us off at the top of a sand dune, located in a short valley. He called this valley the Lawrence of Arabia Pass, a pass where the legendary British officer TE Lawrence traveled during the Arab Revolt.

What I also read on the internet about this location is that it is called Barrah Siq – Valley of the Moon.

This valley leads to the alleged location where Prince Abdullah first met TE Lawrence of Arabia in the early 1900s.  A memorial camp is set up there now – well more like a tourist rest stop to have tea and possibly be pressured to buy something!  😉  All depends on your guide!

That memorial camp was where we would reunite with our guide!

But that is the next blog!

Back to the Valley of the Moon!

Here is our guide driving down the sand dune, leaving us to walk through the valley to meet him at the camp around the corner.fullsizeoutput_a7e2

Beautiful sights during our walk through the Valley of the Moon.

This crazy rock formation in the valley looked like the face of a muppet!

At the corner of the short valley is this rock formation on our left, across from it is the camp dedicated to TE Lawrence of Arabia!fullsizeoutput_a7f3
