Here are moments captured during the fifth week of our six week stay here…..
Happiness and smiles from young girls on a Ladybird!
Lone coconut farmer! He’d just descended the coconut tree, using that metal contraption leaning against it. He then gathered the coconuts he hacked off the tree, that were scattered around its base. Finally, he started to disassemble his climbing gear to leave!
The early morning fish market near our homestay! This morning was all about shrimp! There were many wicker baskets and plastic crates bursting at the seams with shrimp!
A fisherman coming in from the sea! What a paddle!!! Such skill!!
Local women who live near the beach.
Collected water bottles near the beach. The woman wearing the purple and red sari in the above picture was collecting them off the beach yesterday. There must be some useful purpose for them, because I’m quite sure there isn’t a recycling program in the area.
Ghee Roast for breakfast at our everyday breakfast restaurant!! Looks like a magicians hat!!
This is the gold store Michael and I shopped, and purchased my 50th birthday gift! I wanted a simple band of Indian gold styled in Indian tradition!
Statue of perhaps a young Lord Shiva, with a peacock.
Neatly folded leaves…not for lack of water, that is the way they are!
Almost every day, Michael and I ride past this construction area. They’re building a bridge. Needless to say, safety isn’t a priority! These men are working, pouring cement at a height of about two stories up without any safety gear!
The Kanichukulangara Devi Temple is starting to glow with lit diya lamps!
Earlier in the day, Michael and I ride the corner at the Kanichukulangara Devi Temple. This is the “hub” of the area we’re staying at!
Scooter ride through the small village, before we reach the Kanichukulangara Devi Temple. The smoke is from burning piles of garbage.
Incredible India!
S, <3 🙂
What is the speed limit on that stretch of road ? Or should one ask?
😳😎 Glad you left early…little traffic 😍
We have not seen a single speed limit sign here! 🙂
