Our time in Campbell River was spent working on Michael’s house. There were a few visits with friends – but we were working during the days into the evenings to improve the property. It was nice as Michael and I worked together, a nice foreshadow of us working together to build our retirement home in Nova Scotia!
While Michael worked hard repairing his barn floor and working with a friend to start the teardown of the hot tub, I pressured washed the back deck to clean it and remove peeling paint:
Next I started staining – first each spindle and post – next the steps and the floor of the deck!
And here is the finished result! Michael finished painted the grey posts while I removed the bottom trim.
Nice moments:
Seeing a baby deer and her mama! The baby is directly under the gate, mama is just ahead!
I carried a kayak!!!
Spent some time getting to know Michael’s friend, Christine and enjoy a tasty supper of pirogies, salmon and salad! Thank you Christine! 🙂

Stephanie, you did an excellent job on the back deck. A lot of work but the end result is beautiful. Mama & baby deer was a real bonus. Along with Christine’s supper. Michael, your new floor in your barn must make you feel better. There is always something to do when you have a home. Worth it though….xoxoxoxooxo
What is the retirement home timeline; I like the sounds of this hahaha
