Athens, Greece – Saturday Morning Kallidromiou Street Market

Recommended by my Airbnb host as one of the best street markets in Athens, I walked the short distance to the Saturday morning Kallidromiou Street Market to check it out.  I wasn’t disappointed!

The streets were freshly rinsed from the morning’s rain and thunderstorm.  The narrow street was filled with cart after cart of fresh fruit and veggies!!!!!!

I bought fresh mussels, tomatoes, cherries, lemons, a huge avocado, bananas, and eggs! I then bought a fresh out of the oven, still warm sesame pastry filled with feta cheese!!!

I made a stop at the grocery store for some milk, juice and instant coffee (Don’t judge me!  There isn’t a coffee percolator here in the Airbnb!) and my favorite bakery, Artisan for a loaf of bread to go with tonight’s steamed mussels!
