Here is a bit of a glimpse into a day in Doha. Not a typical day for me, for sure, but it is here, in our backyard so to speak!!!
I was given a gift certificate to the Tony Sawaya salon in the Marsa Malaz Kempinski.
Here is my day as it unfolded….to also show you a bit of Doha!
First the drive to The Pearl. Temperatures were reading 37˚Celsius at 10:30am this morning as I headed out from our compound. Friday is the Holy Day of the week, so traffic was non-existent as I made my way across town. Because Qatar is flat, and depending on where I’m going, I can always see if I’m headed in the right direction because of certain landmarks like the towers of West Bay or the towers at the entrance of The Pearl. On the way, I pass by Katara. This is a cultural hub in Doha!
Once in The Pearl, I drive past Qanet Quartier. This is an area of condos modeled to be as if one lives in Venice! Waterways and all!!
I look for the large building that looks like a pink palace with a ginormous horse statue! Not hard to find……
Now for parking……not hard to find as security, after I show them my gift card envelope, directs me to the salon parking lot!

Beautiful artwork and design throughout the hotel!

This was an hour and a half of pampering!!! And hey…..my toes and fingers are colored just in time for Easter!!! Happy Easter everyone!!!
As I drove off, air conditioning blasting, the temperature outside the car reading 42˚Celsius….I was relaxed….happy and enjoying the great start to the long Easter Weekend!!
