This was the start of our two weeks in Switzerland during the Christmas Holidays !

Driving up the many switchbacks felt like we were heading up to heaven as we passed through the clouds and onward to the village. The village offered a quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of more tourist bound destinations in the area.

Beatenburg offers a spectacular view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains as well as being high above Lake Thun.  During our fours days stay here, clouds covered Lake Thun.

We didn’t spend much time in the village itself.  Most days were off to ski resorts in the area and a day hiking.  One day of snowboarding was cancelled as a Foehn wind system made its way across the area closing all ski resorts in the area.

We stayed with Ula and Chris in one of their charming apartments!

Their hospitality was welcoming and informative, helping us with any of our questions about the area and great spots to visit!
