Hungry Honeymooners!
We found an open place to eat across from the Muttrah Corniche on al Bahri Road called Al Rafee Restaurant.
It was clean, with minimal air conditioning and friendly service.
The food was tasty!
We shared mushroom noodles, butter chicken, vegetable rice, and flatbread. I had fresh watermelon juice. Michael had fresh carrot juice. We shared a large bottle of cold water.
The Taxi Stand
Omanis drive taxi in their country. They take pride in it, and love supporting their country.
Never would you find a Qatari driving a taxi in their country. Only immigrant men from South or South East Asia drive taxi in the State of Qatar.
These Omani men were genuinely friendly as Michael practiced speaking Arabic with them.
Behind where I am sitting is a closed shop, indicated by the bars across the entrance. Like Doha, many shops open in the evening when people come out in the cooler evening temperatures.
Traditional Omani Clothing For Men
Omani men wear a dishdasha/kandura that is loose, without a collar, with a short tassel attached from the collar. The dishdasha/kandura can be colorful.
Omani men wear a mussar hat that is embroidered with colorful patterns and personalized detail.
